Sagan envelopes are the small ceremonial envelopes that travel between hands at every Indian wedding, birth ceremony, and house warming. The studio’s set carries twelve different hand-lettered designs so that no two envelopes in a stack feel identical.

Each design is drawn by hand, scanned, and printed in a small run. Some carry a single Devanagari word, some a short auspicious phrase, and a few are quieter — just ornament and gold, with space for you to write the recipient’s name.

The envelopes are sized to hold currency notes folded once. Paper weight has been chosen to feel substantial in the hand without being so stiff that the envelope refuses to close.

For weddings and large family functions, the studio also produces customised batches — your monogram or family name lettered onto the front, in the same hand as the rest of the set. Lead time for a custom batch is typically two to three weeks.
