Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies set by https://likhawat.co.in/ (the website of Likhawat — Calligraphy & Design Studio) and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy and our DPDP Compliance page.

1. What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies allow a site to recognise you on subsequent visits, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and (where the site uses analytics) measure broad usage patterns. Cookies are not programmes; they cannot read other files on your device or install software.

2. Cookies set by this site

The cookies below may be set when you use this site. None of them are used for cross-site advertising or behavioural profiling.

  • wordpress_logged_in_* — set only if you log in to a WordPress account on this site (used by site administrators). Keeps the session signed in. Expires when the browser session ends or after the WordPress login lifetime.
  • wordpress_test_cookie — a one-time cookie WordPress sets to check whether your browser accepts cookies before showing the login screen. Removed immediately afterwards.
  • PHPSESSID — a server-side session identifier. Used briefly while a contact form is being submitted. Expires when you close the browser.
  • cf7-akismet-key — set by the Contact Form 7 plugin only if Akismet anti-spam is active, to help distinguish a human submission from a spam bot.
  • tk_ai, tk_or — set by Jetpack analytics, only if Jetpack’s “Site Stats” or activity-tracking modules are active. Used to measure page views in aggregate. We do not currently have these modules switched on; if we activate them in future, this page and our consent banner will be updated accordingly.

3. Third-party cookies

  • Google Fonts — we serve fonts through Google Fonts, which delivers font files via its CDN. Google Fonts does not set cookies on the user’s browser; only standard log entries (IP, browser) are made on the Google Fonts servers for the duration of the request.
  • Google Analytics — not currently used on this site.
  • Facebook Pixel / Meta Pixel — not currently used on this site.
  • Advertising or retargeting networks — not currently used on this site.

4. How to disable cookies

You can control or delete cookies in every modern browser. Disabling all cookies will not break this website, but if you log in to WordPress on this site you will not stay signed in.

  • Google Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. You can block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or set per-site exceptions. Use Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data to delete existing cookies.
  • Mozilla Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Choose “Block cookies and site data” and the categories you want to block, or use the “Manage Data” button to remove cookies for a particular site.
  • Apple Safari (Mac) — Safari menu → Settings → Privacy. Tick “Block all cookies” or use “Manage Website Data” to remove specific cookies. On iOS, go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced → Block All Cookies.
  • Microsoft Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data. Toggle “Block third-party cookies” or remove cookies per-site under “See all cookies and site data”.

5. Consent banner

This site does not currently use intrusive marketing or cross-site tracking cookies. We have therefore chosen not to display a cookie consent banner, in line with the principle that consent fatigue should be avoided where the cookies in use are strictly necessary or aggregate-only. If we activate Jetpack analytics or any third-party advertising cookie in future, we will introduce a clear opt-in banner before any such cookie is set, in line with our obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
